Mitsouko

"Mitsouko", meaning "mystery" in Japanese, is the name of the heroine of Claude Farrère's novel The Battle . Caught between her oath to her husband, the young Marquis Yorisaka, and her secret love for an officer on the enemy side of the English navy, Mitsouko fights the impulses of her heart with nobility. Inspired by her story, Jacques Guerlain created this subtly androgynous and wildly feminine chypre perfume.

• Mitsouko is a masterpiece of balance and originality that combines a fruity note of peach with jasmine and May rose.

The perfumer gives it an incredible modernity by combining for the first time a fruity, velvety and spicy accord of peach with the woody aromas of patchouli. Olfactory notes

• Top notes are bergamot, citrus, jasmine and rose
• Middle notes are peach, ylang-ylang, jasmine, rose and lilac
• Base notes are Oakmoss, Spices, Cinnamon, Vetiver and Amber.

A LEGENDARY BOTTLE
Designed by Raymond Guerlain in 1912, its legendary "inverted heart" bottle is enhanced with elegant scrolls inspired by art nouveau. Its avant-garde, hollowed-out heart-shaped stopper evokes the delicate romanticism of this monument to perfumery, a true technical feat.
