NINA RICCI

Born in Turin, Italy, in 1883, Nina Ricci began as an apprentice dressmaker at the age of 14, in Paris. He founded his company in 1932 at the age of 49. L'Air Du Temps', Ricci's entry into the fragrance market, was launched in 1948 and in 1950 Nina Ricci retired and her son Robert took over the business. Expanded the company's line by adding more fragrances and licensing Nina Ricci's name to other manufacturers. Nina Ricci died in 1970. His son Robert died in 1988. Nina Ricci was bought by Puig Beauty & Fashion Group of Barcelona, Spain in 1998.
